Mia Coleman, Audio Video Technology and Film Instructor
Hello, my name is Mia Coleman, and I am the Audio, Video Technology & Film (AVTF) Instructor at the Commodore Conyers College and Career Academy.
I am a proud graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production in 2019. After graduation, I spent several years working professionally in the film and television industry, gaining hands-on experience in pre-production, production and post-production across a variety of creative projects.
In 2023, I joined the 4C Academy team with a passion for merging industry knowledge with education. My goal is to equip students with the technical skills and creative confidence needed to succeed in the fast-evolving world of media production. Through the AVTF pathway, which falls under Georgia's Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications career cluster, students explore the fundamentals of storytelling, cinematography, editing, and broadcast production. They gain practical experience using professional equipment and industry-standard software, preparing them for careers in film, television, and digital media. Our students also have the opportunity to earn Adobe Premiere Pro certification, an industry-recognized credential that sets them apart in both higher education and the workforce.
As an AVTF instructor, I strive to inspire the next generation of storytellers, content creators, and visual communicators by providing a space where creativity meets career readiness.
“Georgia is now the number one filming location in the world. The industry has a giant impact on the State’s economy.

This portfolio can be used for college admissions, competitions, or freelance opportunities.
WORK-BASED LEARNING
In 12th grade, qualified students may participate in Work-Based Learning (WBL) through internships that offer both in-house and external opportunities.
